ISLAMABAD: A three member Supreme Court bench headed by Mr Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi has sought detailed report from State Bank with 14 days regarding written off bank loans of Rs 54 billion to big fish. The court was hearing the suo moto case in this regard. The suo moto action had been taken by the deposed chief Justice Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on a report published in an English daily of Rawalpindi on 30 October 2000.
On the last hearing, the court had directed the newspaper to submit a report in this regard. However, when the hearing resumed on Monday, the court was informed that the newspaper had not submitted any report so far. The court directed the newspaper to submit a report in 14 days. Other members of the bench were Mr Justice Muhammad Qaim Jan Khan and Mr Justice Mian Hamid Farooq.-SANA
